It is impossible to imagine a modern shower or bathroom without the necessary element - a watering can. Variants of the produced watering can surprise with a variety of shapes, functions and sizes. In addition, modern models are quite functional. To replace them, there is no need to change the entire kit: just change the watering can itself. The use of various fasteners for watering cans to the wall with the possibility of turning the structure in different directions is provided.
Types and designs
A watering can or shower head is used to separate the water flow into a large number of smaller jets, which is its main purpose. Of the types of watering can distinguish options with a flexible hose and a fixed construction of water supply. The length of the flexible hose is between 150 and 200 mm. Some designs may also use longer hoses. The height of the fixed structures for supplying water to the shower head is from 150 to 250 mm.
The design of the holder for watering can differ. There are three main types: top, side and ceiling mounts. The holder itself, as a rule, is made in a form that provides easy removal of the watering can if necessary. Watering cans used in showers provide a change in the direction of the water flow, the number of jets, temperature, pressure.
The nozzle itself can be rotated in different directions, removed from the mount, providing maximum comfort.
It is additionally protected from blockages and deposits that occur when using hard water. In addition, it is designed for easy cleaning during operation. Water discharge, speed and pressure are regulated in shower nozzles in various ways by blocking the main stream.
Currently produced watering cans vary in a wide variety of sizes. If the size of the shower head is small, the flow of water at the outlet will have a high pressure. If a large watering can is used, a larger number of jets is obtained at the outlet, and pressure is less, the flow of water is softer. A version of the shower head is available under the name "tropical shower" with sizes from 150 to 200 mm.
There are also different forms of manufacturing watering cans, which can be traditional round with a handle or built into the wall of the shower stall. Mostly used round, oval, square and triangular options. Separately, it is possible to distinguish suspended structures with the supply of hot and cold water. A large number of watering cans are produced with various light and color illumination of outgoing water jets. It does not require a connection to a separate power source, since the electric power for the LEDs is generated by a generator built into the shower head, which operates due to the flow of water.
Structurally, the variants with the supply of one or more water flows to the watering can differ. In the first case, one hose with a ready-made water flow is suitable for the nozzle. In the second case, hot and cold water is supplied separately; they are mixed already in the watering can itself. Such constructions usually provide for a mode with the supply of jets of water with different temperatures (cold and hot) at the outlet for the implementation of temperature massage. Recently, designs have appeared with the use of minerals (shungir, tourmaline or germanium) inside shower heads.
According to manufacturers, passing through them, the water is partially purified from chlorine, softened, saturated with ions with a negative charge, which contributes to the healing of the body.
In addition to dividing the water flow into a large number of jets, modern watering cans for showers provide many possible operating modes. Denote the main ones.
- Soft mode (the watering can has a large surface, a large number of thin jets are created, this mode is soft and pleasant for the body).
- Tropical rain (more severe mode, created by a large number of outgoing jets).
- One jet (without spraying, used for dousing).
- Hydromassage mode (created by powerful swirling water flows obtained using a special mechanism).
- Water dust (created by fine atomization of a large number of fine water jets).
In addition, options are released that allow saturating the water flow with a large number of air bubbles, combining the outgoing water flows of various directions, combining all possible options.
Recently, watering cans are gaining popularity, allowing to save water consumption up to 30% due to the valve integrated in the watering can for manual control. This valve only works when pressed by hand. He delivers a strong pressure of water. The rest of the time, water flows in a weak stream through openings of a narrow size (so its flow rate decreases).
Depending on the materials used, watering cans differ in price, reliability and durability of use. For example, plastic watering cans are light in weight, a large number of color shades, do not rust. But plastic structures with a small load can break or deform. This often happens even with a simple twisting of the thread.
The metallized plastic currently in use has an attractive appearance, but has the same disadvantages as a conventional plastic construction.
Silumin products do not rust, they are tough, not deformed, but at the same time quite fragile. When they are attached, damage in the thread area is possible, accompanied by the appearance of cracks. Currently, the most robust, reliable and durable watering cans made of steel, copper or brass remain. They have a higher cost, high reliability in use. Many years of service more than offset the investment.
