The principle of operation of the exhaust riveter is as follows: after the rivet is inserted into the hole previously drilled on both surfaces, the rivet grabs the metal rod with the help of a riveting head, rests its paws on the material and pulls it. At the same time, the rod flattens the end of the sleeve and breaks off. Thus, a flattening in the form of petals is formed on the reverse side of the fastened surfaces, and the sleeve head remains on the front.

The principle of operation of the models is based not on manual traction, as in mechanical samples, but on the operation of compressed air supplied to the working chamber by means of a compressor. Due to the fact that each of the riveted jaws moves in its channel hole, the likelihood of jamming or skewing of the hardware is practically absent. Rivet installation is carried out with one touch of a button, which significantly increases the speed of work and allows you to use the tool in large-scale production.
When choosing a pneumatic riveter, a number of operating parameters of the tool should be taken into account. So, the higher the retraction force of the device, the thicker rivets it will be able to work. Also important is the maximum indicator of working pressure, which in industrial models should not be lower than 6-8 atmospheres. If it is supposed to work with thick surfaces, then it is necessary to pay attention to the working stroke of the tool. It is from this value that the maximum thickness of the connected parts depends, which the device can cope with. It is also necessary to check the number of nozzles adapted to different sizes of hardware, and pay attention to the air flow, which should be 30% lower than the compressor capabilities.
The advantages of pneumatic riveters include high performance, low weight and short deadlines. Among the minuses, the overall dimensions of the products are noted, and their high cost, which is explained by the tool belonging to the professional category.
Cordless models look like a drill, they are distinguished by a high speed of work and the absence of the need for physical effort. In addition, unlike electric models, cordless devices do not have wires, and they do not need a close proximity to an electric power source. The disadvantages of these riveting tools include the limited battery life. Such devices are used for domestic purposes and are not intended for the installation of large volumes. For example, it is unlikely that it will be possible to sheathe a ventilated facade with a cordless tool, and riveting something in the country or in the garage is quite convenient.
Electric models are able to work exactly as long as necessary, and do not depend on the volume of the battery or the operation of the compressor unit. The electric riveter resembles an electric drill: the principle of its operation is based on the transmission of torque to the riveting head and its rotation clockwise. The riveter is equipped with an electric wire, the presence of which is fully compensated by the ability of the device to work in any temperature conditions.
