Facade paintings of buildings enliven gray cities, add color to sleeping areas, excite the imagination, delight, delight, and make you think about the plot. The emotional burden of what you see depends on the theme of the mural and the talent of the artist.
Street painting is flawlessly obtained by artists with experience in this particular area of art. No matter how talented the master writes canvas, not everyone will be able to capture the perspective of the street as a whole. To fresco, graffiti or mural looked at 100%, you need to consider many factors:
- cardinal points;
- natural light at different times of the day, artificial night lighting;
- location of the building in the general concept of the street;
- the shape and scale of the wall.
Only taking into account external factors, a suitable color scheme and plot are selected (possibly with reference to the terrain). It is also necessary to take into account the illusory distortion of the pattern when viewing it at a great distance, in which case the ability of the human eye to cover the perspective of small details decreases. Therefore, preference is given to monumentality, close-up.
Various techniques participate in the painting of building facades: murals, murals, graffiti, patterns, folk ornaments are reproduced with paints.
The first graffiti left us our ancestors in the form of cave paintings. A modern art form originated in the USA at the beginning of the last century . Then the artists “revived” boring freight cars with their drawings. Quite quickly, “carriage” painting migrated to the walls of houses and fences.
Graffiti is painted with paints or scratched on a wall or glass. It can be drawings or inscriptions, color and black and white.
Graffiti writers do not tolerate secular rules and restrictions, this is the lot of free artists, therefore, the work is not coordinated with representatives of local authorities and is often considered illegal.
Relate to the monumental form of street painting. It will not be possible to paint a wall of a high-rise building with a spray can in a few minutes, therefore, unlike graffiti, murals have to be coordinated with local authorities. But such street art is quite legal, sometimes whole streets are given to it. This is done not only for the decoration of the city, but also to protect it from the informal manifestation of graffiti.
Murals, in contrast to graffiti, in addition to pictures, carry an idea, meaning. In this case, they are closer to traditional frescoes depicting scenes from life or mythical plots.
In addition, murals are very realistic, sometimes such drawings resemble photographs.
Colorless plot painting
The painting, which does not carry a semantic load, can be carried out on log, brick walls, surfaces made of timber or under bamboo. Each brick, beam or log is decorated with a separate color. It turns out funny private houses. Colorless plot painting is also carried out in the form of patterns and folk ornaments.
Before proceeding to the wall painting, it is necessary to carry out preparatory work:
- choose a building with a suitable wall;
- sign an agreement with the local administration for the performance of work;
- choose a theme, define concepts, draw a sketch;
- to collect the necessary materials and tools, taking into account street work and the scale of the surface;
- take care of access to the workplace;
- think over where to store equipment;
- protect the workplace from the presence of unauthorized persons with a view to their safety;
- prepare the surface of the wall in the following order: directly the wall, plaster, the layer of finishing putty, primer.
If the building has already been built, then the walls are most likely ready for painting. It is better to take control of the surface of the house, which is under construction, to check the quality of plastering , so that by the time the object is commissioned, the walls can work. It is better to prime the wall with the composition of the same manufacturer, whose paints will be used for painting.
A building more than three meters high needs special access. To do this, build forests or use a suspended cradle.
The wall selected for painting is filled with base paint - white or dark gray, depending on the tonality of the future drawing. Start work after complete drying. A well-prepared wall should be hard, dry and clean.
It is better to temporarily protect parts of the wall on which the drawing is not applied polyethylene.
Work must be carried out in dry weather with positive air temperature. First of all, a sketch is transferred to a primed wall. If it is worked out in detail, with clearly defined proportions and perspectives, a grid is applied to the surface and a sketch is made on it.
You can do without a grid, draw the contours of the picture using a projector. The possibility of applying this method depends on the size of the wall, the power of the equipment and the absence of scaffolding.
When the sketch is detailed on the wall, proceed directly to the painting . All materials are selected with the characteristics of the application for outdoor work. It is better to use paints such as Alpina, Caparol, all kinds of Tikkurila compounds, as well as silicate species and azure.
Having picked up the paints, they proceed to the detailed execution of the art painting, work on local spots of the picture, volumes and small strokes of the composition. The work is carried out from general perception to particular details, this allows you to maintain the integrity of the entire image.
At the end of the painting and complete drying of the paints, the work is covered with a protective layer, for example, acrylic matte varnish.
Even the simplest painting will revive a dull gray building. But usually artists do not look for easy ways, but create real masterpieces on the city walls.
- If the authors want to shock the viewer, they resort to three-dimensional images, dissecting the building by the river or drawing a car stuck in the wall.
- Fake building facades look unusual in city blocks. On the streets, buildings of past eras seem to appear.
- A simple five-story building turns into a fun unforgettable object of street art. Who would not want to live in such an amazing house?
- Artists have the ability to "link" the plot of the painting to the objects of the street. It turns out interesting work with painted children watering real trees.
Creating frescoes and murals on the walls of houses is an expensive task , but decorating the facades of buildings with stucco molding and other architectural compositions will be even more expensive. They resort to street decor in order to make the buildings unforgettable, the streets are original, and the city is unique.
