The drug Fitoverm is a modern insecticidal agent used to treat indoor, garden and garden plants from ticks and pests. The insecticide successfully copes with the task assigned to it, without harming the green spaces. Many positive reviews of gardeners and gardeners confirm this fact.
What it is?
The active ingredient in the Fitoverm preparation is aversectin, which belongs to the 3rd class of biological hazard . Depending on which pest insect to fight, according to the instructions, the concentration of the solution is also selected. On average, from 2 to 10 mg of the drug is used to prepare a working solution per 1000 ml of water.
The substance aversectin causes a paralytic effect on insects, as a result of which their life ends 2-3 days after the use of the drug. Resistance to frequent use in insects is not produced, so the tool can be used often. Aversectin has a short period of complete decay, falling into the soil, because of the low toxicity of the substance it is not contaminated. The active substance does not have the ability to accumulate in the fruits of horticultural crops and in the green mass of flower crops. The working solution is used in dry and warm weather from the beginning of spring until the formation of ovaries of fruit crops.
Unlike garden plants, the Fitoverm preparation for indoor plants can be used at any time of the year.
Most often it is used for spraying, while the duration of exposure to aversectin lasts 1-3 weeks, depending on the concentration of the solution used. After spraying "Fitoverm" peak of its activity occurs on the 5-7th day.
How to breed?
Means "Fitoverm" is available in ampoules, bottles and even cans. In order to process indoor flowers, it is enough to purchase the drug in the packaging of 2, 4 or 5 ml. The drug must be used correctly, observing all safety precautions:
- when spraying plants, it is required to use personal protective equipment for the organs of vision, respiration, and skin;
- a freshly prepared solution should be used immediately, without leaving it for long-term storage;
- after working with “Fitoverm”, the spray gun must be immediately rinsed thoroughly, since residual material can quickly destroy the spray gun.
Instructions for using the drug for the treatment of domestic plants are as follows.
- A solution for processing the flower is prepared at the rate of 2 g of substance per 1000 ml of water.
- Water for the preparation of the solution is taken warm.
- Approximately 70-80% of the water is poured into the container, and in the remaining 20-30%, carefully, trying not to spray, add the Fitoverm preparation from the ampoule. In order to dilute it, the solution is stirred with a wooden stick.
- Then both parts are connected in one container, and the solution is ready for use. It must be used within 2-3 hours.
In the process of preparing the solution, it is important to ensure that its concentrated part does not get into open skin areas. If this happens, the skin is immediately washed with soap under running running water.
If you accidentally swallow even a minimal portion of the solution, you must urgently induce vomiting and rinse your stomach. Then you need to take a large amount of activated carbon and immediately seek medical help.
How to process?
The Fitoverm working solution can be used in combination with biological products that stimulate plant growth, provided that no precipitate forms when the preparations are mixed . Processing indoor flowers is carried out using a spray.
When treating indoor plants from spider mites, scabs, thrips, whiteflies, aphids, the spraying process is recommended to be performed on the street or on an open and ventilated balcony. In windy and cold weather, it is better not to carry out the treatment, choosing a dry and warm day. As a rule, the processing is performed 2-3 times with an interval of 7-10 days. The effect of processing is noticeable after 3 days.
When treating indoor plants affected by the invasion of insect pests, you need to spray all the flowers that were next to each other. This must be done as a preventive measure so that there is no recurrence of infection.
Processing is carried out on dry plants, and it is best to perform it in the daytime.
Instructions for use for different colors
The effectiveness of the drug is affected by ambient temperature. For example, at an air temperature of 15 ° C, the action of “Fitoverm” is only 30%, but it increases to 800% when the air warms up to 30 ° C. Therefore, manufacturers recommend using an insecticide in conditions when the air temperature is 20 ° C - this indicator is considered optimal and activates the action of aversectin. With a working solution, plants are not only sprayed, they can also be watered with Fitoverm. Watering allows you to destroy insect larvae, which they can lay in the soil of a flower pot.
The processing of various types of domestic plants depends on the variety of insect pests, and therefore this process has some features.
Uzambara violets (senpolia) are often attacked by a spider mite, aphid or thrips. If you do not notice the signs of damage in time, the flower quickly dies. To treat this indoor flower, the treatment should not expose its affected parts, but the entire plant. To guarantee the elimination of harmful insects, the soil in the flower pot should be completely replaced. If it is impossible to do this for some reason, the soil, like the plant itself, is treated with an insecticide solution. If the violets form the peduncles during the treatment period with Fitoverm, they will have to be removed.
A working solution for processing Uzambara violets is prepared at the rate of 1000 ml of water and 2 ml of Fitoverma. To enhance the action of the active substance of the insecticide, a few drops of liquid soap or Solvet-Gold are added to this composition, which helps the solution linger on the surface of the leaves and not roll off them.
Violet should be abundantly sprayed from the outside and inside of the leaves. To achieve a positive result, at least 3 treatments are performed. Each cycle is performed 3 times a day. The interval between such sprayings is 4-5 days.
The treated plant is cleaned for several days in a dark place where it is warm and there are no drafts. If this is not done, then dark spots will appear on the leaves of the senpolia.
Before processing this plant, it is removed from the pot and the roots are thoroughly shaken off the ground, and then they are washed in a warm but weak solution of Fitoverm, prepared by dissolving 1 ml of the product in 1 liter of water . The pot is treated with a disinfectant or replaced with a new one. Then, having prepared a working solution (2 ml / 1 l), the leaves and stem of the plant are sprayed with it. After processing, the orchid should be placed on a dry tray and covered with plastic wrap. The pallet is cleaned in a dark place. After a day, the plant is planted in new soil.
After treatment with an insecticide, water the plant only after 5 days, and re-spray it only after 7-10 days. In total, 3 cycles of treatments are done to rid the orchid of pests. But 2 subsequent treatments are performed not by spraying, but by watering the soil into which the flower is planted.
Large-leafed rubbery ficuses quite often are attacked by a scale insect, which manifests itself as yellow or rusty-brown spots on the leaves. Before treatment with Fitoverm leaves are completely removed or cleaned from insects using a brush . You can wash the leaf plates from the scabs using a solution of tobacco dust, after which the leaves need to be dried. To process the plants in the atomizer select the mode of finest dispersion. A working solution is prepared by dissolving 2 ml of the drug in 1000 ml of water. A few drops of liquid soap are added to the composition so that the product does not drip from the surface of the leaves. The number of treatments should be at least 4-5, the interval between them - 4-5 days.
If the ficus is affected by thrips, then to destroy them, the concentration of the working solution should be stronger. To this end, 5 ml of Fitoverm is dissolved in 500 ml of water. If the lesion is too profuse, then water can be taken 300 ml. When spraying, they process not only leaf plates from two sides, but also the soil in the pot. A day after treatment, the ficus is washed with running water. In total, such sprayings are carried out at least 2-3 times, and the interval between them is done for 14 days.
Indoor lilies can be affected by thrips, spider mites or aphids. Depending on the type of insect pest, the concentration of the Fitoverm working solution is also selected:
- to combat spider mites, 4 ml of the drug is dissolved in 2000 ml of water;
- aphids are effectively removed with a more concentrated composition - 4 ml / 1000 ml;
- to destroy thrips, a solution of a lower concentration of 4 ml / 500 ml is prepared.
When processing lilies, it is important that the drug falls on the entire surface of its leaf plates from all sides. The peak performance of "Fitoverm" occurs 7 days after spraying. Reprocessing of the plant is performed after 3 weeks. To prevent the insecticide from draining from smooth sheet plates, liquid soap or Solvet-Gold is added to the working solution.
Preventive spraying of indoor plants is recommended 4 times a year. It is especially important to do this before the onset of autumn and spring, when air humidity rises and central heating is turned off.
“Fitoverm” is an effective drug, after the use of which indoor flowers can be fed with fertilizers, growth stimulants and treated with fungicides on the third day already. However, manufacturers warn that it is undesirable to combine this insecticide with substances containing alkali.
